Beem on the Backside 12/19/14

What a beautiful morning today back on the Portland Meadows backstretch. The sun was out, everything was trying to dry up from the rain the last few days and everyone was out and about training and enjoying the decent temperatures. The power poles looked to be all back up from last week’s wind storm and I saw the electrician in Cindie’s Backside Café enjoying his breakfast saying that he had just one or two more transformers to repair. Power seems to be all back up on the backside as lots of horses were out on the hotwalkers.

Well this was an interesting morning to say the least. Last night here in the Portland area we had a pretty significant wind storm. Portland International Airport was reporting gusts up to 65 or 70 miles per hour. Power got knocked out to tens of thousands of people in the metro area, my place included. Power was out at my house last night from about 5 to 8:30pm and after that all was well. So I figured that would be the case at the track this morning.
