Hannibal Lector broke beautifully under jockey Luis Torres and went on to an easy win in Saturday’s second race. Carded at the rare 220 yard distance, the 10 year old gelding established a new track record for the distance, completing the course in 12.12 seconds, besting the 59 year old record set by Gold Bar 49 back on July 25, 1959, when he ran the course in 12.20.
