Pick 5 carryover for Sunday December 14, 2014

After a couple of big priced long shots won late in the card, nobody could put together all five winners in the $0.20 Pick 5 at Portland Meadows, resulting in a big carryover of $8,135.83 into the Oregon Championship Day card on Sunday December 14th.  

The Pick 5 sequence at Portland Meadows covers the final five races on the card and features a player friendly 15% takeout rate.  First post at Portland Meadows for Sunday's Oregon Championship Day is 12:00pm (Pacific). 

Pick 4 carryover for Tuesday December 9th

Nobody could piece together all four horses in the PIck 4 sequence on Sunday so there will be a carryover of $3,842.59 into the Tuesday December 9th card.  

The Tuesday program gets underway at 12pm (Pacific) and the PIck 4 covers the final 4 races on the card, races 7 through 10.  

Nominations are out for Oregon Championship Day

Nominations have been released for one of Portland Meadows biggest days of the season, Oregon Championship Day on Sunday December 14th. Nine added money events will take place on the track, all for Oregon-bred runners. The $13,000 guaranteed Wineberg Stakes and Janet Wineberg Stakes are the annual feature events as they showcase the best two year olds in the state. 

Chicks R Gone heads fastest qualifiers for the Baxter Andruss Futurity

Chicks R Gone won the last of four trials on Sunday at Portland Meadows and put up the fastest 400 yard qualifying time of 20.523 seconds for the $33,900 Baxter Andruss Futurity Finals that will be run on Sunday December 14th.

Well I got a late start this morning. The combination of a belly full of turkey last night and the drive back to Portland from Seattle, I didn’t roll to the barn area until about 8:40 or so. Which as it turns out was perfect timing as they had just started the break time so I could catch a lot of people in the kitchen area!
