In response to efforts spearheaded by the NTRA, the United States Department of the Treasury and Internal Revenue Service (IRS) are considering changes to reporting and withholding requirements related to pari-mutuel winnings.

Simulcasting from Les Bois Park in Boise, Idaho now Available

Portland Meadows and the entire Oregon OTB Network are pleased to announce that will be simulcasting horse racing from Les Bois Park in Boise, Idaho.

Les Bois Park has not simulcast their races in recent years but will be this year.

Opening Day is Saturday May 16th and Post Time is 1:00 PM (Pacific).

You can watch and wager on many jockeys, trainers, and horses that you would be familiar with from Portland Meadows.

A consortium of racing organizations has announced a Derby Day fundraising campaign to be held on Saturday, May 2, 2015 at 25 tracks and racing venues across the U.S. to raise funds for the Permanently Disabled Jockeys Fund (PDJF).

On Saturday March 28, 2015, Portland Meadows and the entire Oregon OTB Network will be simulcasting the richest race in the world, the $10M Dubai World Cup.

A Look Back at the 2014-15 Season at Portland Meadows

When Run Atom and Jennifer Whitaker crossed the finish line in front in the 9th race on Tuesday, it capped off the 68th season of live racing at Portland Meadows. The 38 day meet got underway on October 12th and Opening Day saw a huge throng of fans show up to see racing return to the Rose City. Spot of Salt ran his local record to 4 for 4 when he won the $9,800 Frog Lake Handicap for jockey Jose Zunino who had three winners on the Opening Day program. 

Portland Meadows 2014-15 Live Race Meet Sees Average Daily Handle Increases Over 2013-14 Meet

Portland Meadows’ thirty-six day live racing season ended on Tuesday February 10, 2015 concluding the 68th season of live racing that got underway on October 12, 2014. Average daily handle was up as both in-state and export handle saw increases this season compared with the previous meet.

Instant Racing Now Available At Portland Meadows

Portland Meadows is excited to announce that Instant Racing is now available at the Colt Club.

Pick 4 carryover for Tuesday February 10th (Mandatory Payout)

Nobody had all four winners in the Pick 4 on Monday so there will be a carryover of $4,869 into the Tuesday February 10, 2015 card.  Since Tuesday is closing day the PIck 4 will be a mandatory payout.  So if nobody has 4 of 4 on Tuesday it will pay out to 3 of 4.  

The sequence covers the final four races on the card, races 6 through 9.  The Pick 4 is a $1.00 base wager and features a low 14% takeout rate.  

Three Sixteen wins the Oregon Derby

Three Sixteen was intent on making the lead and did so as he went wire to wire to win the $20,000 Oregon Derby on Sunday at Portland Meadows. Sent off as the even money favorite in the field of seven, Three Sixteen was hustled out for the early lead by jockey Matt Hagerty, but they weren’t allowed to relax as much as Hagerty had hoped.
