Dennis Wittcke Takes The $2,000 So. Cal Sunday Final

Dennis Wittcke went wire to wire on Sunday, but his win wasn’t on the track, but rather he took down the $2,000 final of Portland Meadows’ So. Cal Sunday Handicapping Contest.  The contest covered 10 weeks and began back in April, and consisted of weekly $200 contests, focusing exclusively on Southern California racing from Santa Anita Park and then Betfair Hollywood Park.  Each weekly contest, players would make their top selections for a series of races, with each pick getting a $2 win/place bet on it.  The top three money earners each week got paid, and the top two each week qualified for the $2,000 final on June 24th.

Alexander Breeders' Cup Prep Handicapping Contest Series

Starting on Saturday July 21st, Portland Meadows and Alexander OTB will be teaming up to bring you another of the popular Handicapping Contest Series.  This one will be the Alexander Breeders' Cup Prep Handicapping Contest Series and will consist of three $200 qualifying tournaments and a $1,500 Final.  The contests will take place on an every other Saturday timeline on the following dates and will feature the following great tracks:

I'll Have Another arrives at Belmont Park

ELMONT, N.Y.– I’ll Have Another, who on June 9 will attempt to become the 12th horse to sweep the Triple Crown when he competes in the Grade 1, $1 million Belmont Stakes, arrived in barn 9 at Belmont Park at 2:53 p.m. Sunday after vanning north from Pimlico Race Course in Maryland. 

Winterhawks Game 5 Viewing Party, Thursday 5/10/12

Hey Hawks fans, you are invited to the Game 5 Viewing Party on Thursday night at the Turf Club at Portland Meadows, 1001 N. Schmeer Road just off I-5 in Portland.

Watch the game, get a picture with the Rosebuds, enjoy great food and beverage specials, and cheer on the Hawks! We will be giving away a game-used stick autographed by Hawks defenseman Tyler Wotherspoon plus other great prizes.

Kentucky Derby Party at Trackstir's in Springfield

If your in the Eugene/Springfield area on Kentucky Derby Day, then Trackstir's OTB is your place to go to watch and bet on the Kentucky Derby.  Located conveniently just off Interstate 5 at exit 195 A in Springfield, Trackstir's OTB is located inside the Elmer's Restaurant at the Shilo Inn.  Doors open at 7:00am and there will be great simulcast wagering all day long, with the Kentucky Derby going off at about 3:15pm. 

Portland Meadows closed for simulcasting all day on Wednesday 4/25 (UPDATED)

Please be advised the Portland Meadows will be closed due to facility repairs on Tuesday April 24, 2012 as well as on Wednesday April 25th.  Portland Meadows will re-open on Thursday Morning April 26th at 9am as usual.  We apologize for this inconvenience and appreciate your patience.

Portland Meadows Closed for Simulcasting on Thursday 4/12, OTB's all open

Due to a power outage issue, Portland Meadows will be closed today for simulcast wagering.  It is our intention that this issue will hopefully be remedied by tomorrow morning and we can open doors at 9am tomorrow (Friday) as planned.

All 11 of our statewide off track betting locations are open for wagering today.  For a list of the nearest OTB to you, simply go to and click on Off Track Betting. 

Portland Meadows to offer special simulcasting of the $1,000,000 Charles Town Classic on 4/14 (UPDATED)

Portland Meadows will offer up special simulcasting of the $1,000,000 Grade 2 Charles Town Classic on Saturday April 14th.  The Charles Town Classic has become one of the premier early season races for older horses in the last few years, and when nominations closed on Saturday March 31st, 54 horses including 7 Grade 1 winning runners were nominated for the 9 furlong event.
