$16,750 carryover into the Tuesday Pick 4

After a series of long shots in the Monday Pick 4 sequence, there is a $16,750 carryover into the Tuesday sequence which covers races 6 through 9 on the Tuesday December 20th program.  Post time for the 6th race is at 2:34pm pacific time.  

Back on November 22nd, Portland Meadows had a $8,962 carryover into the Tuesday card, and over $60,000 was bet into the pool, so another nice pool is to be expected on Tuesday December 20th.

CM Got Overserved scores in the Far West Futurity Finals

CM Got Overserved really seems to be figuring out this racing game, as he powered home to an impressive score in the $30,900 Far West Futurity Finals at Portland Meadows on Monday.  Sent off as the tepid 5/2 favorite, CM Got Overserved broke very sharply under jockey Joe Crispin, which Crispin said was key to the victory. 

The Winning Ticket Radio show returns on January 8, 2012

With the Christmas and New Years' holidays falling on Sundays, the Winning Ticket Radio Show on 750AM The Game will be off until January 8, 2012, when it will return at its normal 10:30am start time. 

Winning Ticket Radio Show features special 7:30am start time on 12/18/11

The Winning Ticket, Portland's home for Thoroughbred Racing talk on 750AM The Game will have a special early start time of 7:30am on Sunday December 18th. 

Hosted by track announcer Jason Beem, The Winning Ticket is a 30 minute show that focuses on Portland Meadows Live Racing.  Regular showtime is Sunday mornings at 10:30am and the show can be streamed live at

The show will not be broadcast on Sunday December 25th in observance of the Christmas Holiday

Bernard Aldrich wins ShowVivor, sets his sights on $10,000 top prize

Bernard Aldrich spends much of his time criss-crossing the United States of America as a long haul trucker.  The 63 year old resident of Owensboro, Kentucky says that it’s rare that he’s home too much, but he still enjoys watching the races and playing games such as ShowVivor.  Aldrich grew up around harness racing and even worked as a driver and trainer of Standardbred runners in Kentucky and New York.

Female Riders sweep first six at Portland Meadows

It was Ladies’ Day at Portland Meadows on Tuesday as female riders swept the first six races on the card.  The day started off with Debbie Hoonan-Trujillo and BA See Spot Run score as 2 to 1 favorite.  Eliska Kubinova took race two aboard Mr. Easy Okie as the 5/2 second choice in a dominating length and a quarter victory.  It was Marijo Terleski’s turn in the third race as she guided Mindbogler to a 9/2 win in a hard fought battle over My Ginny N Tonic, ridden by Debbie Hoonan-Trujillo who finished up in second.
