Customer Appreciation Day Winners

Saturday October 6 was Customer Appreciation Day at Portland Meadows. In addition to great racing and the unbelievable $1 specials, we offered up great prizes including a trip to the 2012 Breeders’ Cup.

Local fan Anna Tolokovay had her named pulled and receives a great package which includes to two Turf Club tickets for the Breeders’ Cup on November 2 and November 3, hotel accommodations, and $1,000 in spending cash.

There is a $3,558.35 Pick 4 carryover going into the Wednesday October 3, 2012 early P4 covering Races 1-4.

The Portland Meadows P4 is one of the best wagers in horse racing with its low 14% takeout rate.  Add in the carryover this Wednesday and you have the can't miss wagering opportunity of the day.

NEW CONTEST - Sunday Football Challenge Contest

We are pleased to announce that every Sunday through the remainder of 2012 will be a Sunday Football Challenge Contest Day at Portland Meadows.

Pick the winners of seven events - horse races and football games vs. the spread - and share in the minimum $1,000 prize pool.  If no one selects 7 of 7, $200 will be added to the prize pool and it will carry over to the following Sunday.

$1,000 Cash Prize Wednesday Contest Central

Wednesday Night Handicapping Contest Central

Fans of Portland Meadows love the $1,000 Cash Prize Handicapping Contest that is offered every Wednesday night of the Summer Race Meet.

The cost for the contest is $10 for PM REWARDS Members ($20 otherwise) plus each contestant must purchase the $30 contest bankroll to cover a single $2 WPS in each of the 5 mandatory contest races.

Each week is its own individual competition covering Portland Meadows races 3-7 and takes place in the third floor Turf Club.

Devon Dat Cash takes the Portland Meadows Championship Bonus Challenge

Devon Dat Cash and Luis Torres had to work every yard of the 440 yard $13,330 Portland Meadows Championship Bonus Challenge, but in the end the 7 year old veteran put his nose in front at the wire. Sent off as the 9/5 favorite in the full field of ten, Devon Dat Cash got off to a good start today and battled bravely, having to outduel stable-mate Current Sea and Eyez On Brimmer to win by a head. Current Sea finished in second, just a neck in front of Eyez on Brimmer who ran third.

McFadden Memorial and City of Roses $20k Finals

With the cancellation of last Wednesday’s card due to an issue with track lighting, Wednesday September 26th has turned into one of the biggest days of the meet, with both the $20,000 McFadden Memorial Sprint Claiming Series Final and the $20,000 City of Roses Filly and Mare Sprint Claiming Series Final to be run at Portland Meadows. The McFadden Memorial Sprint Claiming Series Final will run on its originally scheduled date, with a field of ten runners to compete at the six furlong distance, including Zilver who swept both of his divisions of Leg 1 and 2.
