The Road to the Triple Crown goes through Portland Meadows!

While Portland Meadows doesn’t host any Triple Crown prep races, our handicappers and fans are definitely Triple Crown worthy.

Leading up to the Kentucky Derby, Portland Meadows will discuss one Derby prep race - our feature simulcast race of the week – in an online Google+ Hangout.

The Google+ Hangouts are limited to ten participants including five spots for the pros and insiders and five spots for fans of racing. All skills levels are welcome to participate.

Portland Meadows Donation Drive - Jockey April Boag Loses Home in Fire

Portland Meadows jockey April Boag lost her home and all of her belongings in a fire on February 11, 2013.

April and her two children escaped any serious injuries, but have nothing left, only the clothes they had on at the time.

Portland Meadows Racetrack is collecting donations to help April and her family through Thursday, February 21 and will ship everything to April and her family on the following day.

In January 2013, the monthly Portland Meadows REWARDS promotion is "Free Breakfast Tomorrow."  It's as simple as making a few wagers on a Saturday in January (using your REWARDS card of course) and we'll buy you breakfast at the track on Sunday.

The horse racing industry in Oregon contributed more than $202.6 million in output to Oregon’s economy in 2010 as indicated by a recent ECONorthwest study titled “Portland Meadows, County Fair Meets and the Horse Racing Industry in Oregon: Impacts on rural and urban economies in 2010.”

2012 Summer/Fall Meet - End of Year Release

Portland Meadows’ sixty day live racing season ended on Sunday December 9, 2012 concluding the first Summer/Fall meet run at the track. Thousands of new customers came out and enjoyed live racing in warm weather, many for their first time.

Closing Day Rewards Promotion - 1,000,000 Points Giveaway

Congratulations to the following twenty Portland Meadows REWARDS members that each won 50,000 REWARDS points in our end of meet celebration.

All REWARDS members that simply wagered $20 on closing day were automatically entered into the draw which took place on Monday December 10, 2012.

Overtime Victory from last to first to take the O.H.B.P.A. Route Claiming Series Final

Overtime Victory had to pass all of his ten rivals to take home the top honor in Sunday’s feature event, the $20,000 O.H.B.P.A Route Claiming Series Final. Sent off at odds of 5/2, Overtime Victory got away slowly and was far back by the time the field hit the first turn. On the first turn, at one point he was eighteen lengths behind the leader Castle Pines.

Bruce Meyer wins $10,000 in Portland Meadows Ultimate ShowVivor Online Contest

After 60 racing days and 1694 eliminated players, Bruce Meyer stood at the top of the mountain alone as the single winner of Portland Meadows Ultimate ShowVivor Online Contest. Since he outlasted all of his competitors and made it to the end of the season, Meyer will take home a $10,000 pay day.
