2013/14 Portland Meadows end of year release

Portland Meadows’ forty-nine day live racing season ended on Sunday January 26, 2014 concluding the 67th season of live racing that got underway on July 21st.

Important Simulcasting Note

Please be advised that on Tuesday February 4, 2014 Portland Meadows will be closed for business on the day.

The Rialto and Copper Penny OTBs (normally open on Tuesdays) will be closed for simulcasting betting as well.

Portland Meadows and the entire Oregon OTB Network will re-open at 9:00 AM on Wednesday February 5, 2014.

Tuesday simlulcasting will return on February 11, 2014.

2013/14 a season to remember at Portland Meadows

The curtain fell on the 2013/14 racing season at Portland Meadows on Sunday when Hock crossed the wire to win the final race of the season. From opening day to Portland Mile Day to Oregon Championship Day to closing day and everything in between, there were many memories made on the track and in the stands.

Awards were presented on Sunday to the leading jockeys, trainers, and owners for the now concluded Portland Meadows 49 day season. Portland Meadows runs both Thoroughbred and Quarter Horse races, so individual awards were given to the leaders in each category for each breed.



On Sunday December 29, 2013 we hosted HOLIDAY GIVEAWAY at Portland Meadows.

Fans who pre-registered at were given a mystery voucher worth anywhere from $2.00 to $5,000.00.

Shannon E.'s mystery voucher was worth $1,000.00

But it was Frank G. who took the top prize of $5,000.00

Pick 5 Carryover for Wednesday December 18th of $1,480.33

With a couple of big prices in the sequence on Sunday, there were no winning tickets for the Pick 5.  So there will now be a Pick 5 carryover of $1,480.33 for the Wednesday December 18th program.  

The Pick 5 sequence will cover races 5 through 9.  The Portland Meadows Pick 5 is a $0.25 wager and features a low 15% takeout rate.  

Rogue County takes home The Memorial Stakes

Rogue County turned in a dominating performance on Sunday as he took home the top honors in the $10,300 Memorial Stakes at Portland Meadows. Sent off as the 7/5 favorite in the field of seven, Rogue County ($4.80) didn’t get off to the best of starts in the 350 yard event.
