PORTLAND MEADOWS CLOSED FOR MONDAY OPERATIONS

Portland, OR. – Due to ice and freezing conditions, Portland Meadows Officials closed the facility for Monday operations. The track had already cancelled live racing for Monday as Officials, Horsemen & Horsewomen met again today to determine to cancel live racing for Tuesday, Jan 10th as well.

SEVERE WINTER WEATHER FORCES CANCELLATION OF MONDAY CARD AT PORTLAND MEADOWS

Portland, OR. – In what was expected to be the first day of an extended race meet at Portland Meadows, a major winter weather system brought freezing rain, snow and ice conditions over the weekend which led to Track Officials and Oregon Horsemen and Horsewomen to cancel racing for Monday. The groups will meet again tomorrow morning to determine the situation for Tuesday.

NEW YEAR’S DAY RACING AT PORTLAND MEADOWS

Portland, OR. – The Portland oval will host a special New Year’s Day racing program with eight races slated for action. Portland Meadows will now have an extra two weeks of racing after officials met Friday to extend the meet as a “make up” for bad weather cancellations. This week, the Sunday program will be the only race day of the week as racing will resume on Monday, Jan. 9th.
