Pick 4 carryover for Tuesday February 10th (Mandatory Payout)

Nobody had all four winners in the Pick 4 on Monday so there will be a carryover of $4,869 into the Tuesday February 10, 2015 card.  Since Tuesday is closing day the PIck 4 will be a mandatory payout.  So if nobody has 4 of 4 on Tuesday it will pay out to 3 of 4.

The sequence covers the final four races on the card, races 6 through 9.  The Pick 4 is a $1.00 base wager and features a low 14% takeout rate.

Three Sixteen wins the Oregon Derby

Three Sixteen was intent on making the lead and did so as he went wire to wire to win the $20,000 Oregon Derby on Sunday at Portland Meadows. Sent off as the even money favorite in the field of seven, Three Sixteen was hustled out for the early lead by jockey Matt Hagerty, but they weren’t allowed to relax as much as Hagerty had hoped.

Seven entered for the $20,000 Oregon Derby

Pick 5 carryover for Sunday February 8, 2015

A couple of long shots winning on Tuesday including 38 to 1 Bridlestone's Girl led to a Pick 5 carryover of $6,590.65 into Sunday's Oregon Derby Day card.  The Sunday February 8th card will kick off at 12:00pm (Pacific) and the Pick 5 will cover the final five races on the card.  The $20,000 Oregon Derby will be part of the Pick 5 sequence.

Portland Meadows Pick 5 is a $0.20 base wager with a low 15% takeout rate and always covers the final five races on the card.

Sportive wins the Portland Mile

While the fog prevented racing fans from seeing most of the race, the fog didn’t stop Sportive and jockey Javier Matias from winning the 47th running of the $37,400 Portland Mile. Sent off at odds of 9/2, Sportive ran a very similar race in the Portland Mile as he did when he won the East Lake Handicap last time out.

Trainer Rody Barrett looking to guide Johnski to Portland Mile success

Johnski will be gunning for the biggest win of his career in the 47th running of the Portland Mile on Sunday January 25th. But it will also be the biggest start of his trainer Rody Barrett’s career. The career as a trainer is relatively new. The passion for horses, well that goes back a long way.
