Wrap You Up looking to cash in for Oregon owner

The two year-filly Wrap You Up is getting ready for the biggest race of her young career on Sunday June 22nd when she is set to run in the $1,000,000 Ed Burke Million Futurity at Los Alamitos. Her owner Cedric Hayden is also ready for the race of his life, as after twenty years in the game, Hayden finally has his chance at one of Quarter Horse racing’s biggest prizes.

Live Racing Update

Hello fans of live horse racing from Portland Meadows,

Portland Meadows and the entire horse racing industry in Oregon are currently working together to figure out the details of the 2014-2015 live race meet.

We hope to have more information to share shortly and will post updates on our website and with social media as soon as they become available.

Live racing is currently going on at the Oregon fair circuit.  The horses were at Union this past weekend and next up is Grants Pass.

CLARIFY REGULATIONS REGARDING TAX REPORTING
AND WITHHOLDING FOR PARI-MUTUEL CUSTOMERS

NEW YORK CITY (Tuesday, June 3, 2014) – The National Thoroughbred Racing Association (NTRA) today released a copy of a bipartisan letter from key members of Congress asking the Department of Treasury to clarify regulations regarding the way pari-mutuel winnings are calculated for tax purposes.

2014 Triple Crown Party, Saturday June 7

We will be hosting a Triple Crown party on Saturday, June 7, 2014 as California Chrome bids to win the146th running of the Grade 1, $1.5 million Belmont Stakes and become the first horse in 36 years to sweep the Kentucky Derby, Preakness and Belmont.

2014 Alexander Derby Prep: Leg 2 Results

The Alexander Kentucky Derby Prep Series continued with the second leg on Saturday, March 8th. Contestants poured over the six races from Tampa Bay Downs culminating with the Tampa Bay Derby.

In the end, it was Len Ransom who captured the $120 first prize and the free entry to the Final on April 12th.

Contest veteran Jerry Liebertz found the podium yet again with a 2nd place finish worth $60 and a free final entry as well.

Cam Mead made the honorable mention list with a 3rd place finish and prize of $20.
