Sneakin Bye dominates the Baxter Andruss Futurity Finals

Sneakin Bye broke beautifully and went right to the front, never looking back in taking $28,400 Baxter Andruss Oregon Bred Futurity Final at Portland Meadows on Sunday afternoon. Sent off at odds of 8/1 in the field of ten, Sneakin Bye ($19.20) broke great and went right to the front under jockey Debbie Hoonan.

“She broke so good today,” said Hoonan. “I really just stayed out of her way. Scott (Raley) and his team led her over really ready to run today.”

Trainer Scott Raley conditioned the winner for owner/breeder Gary Chumbley who bred the horse in Oregon. Raley, a multiple Quarter Horse training title winner at Portland Meadows was thrilled after the race.

“You know something just seemed weird about her before the trials for this race, and I was concerned about her,” said Raley. “She wasn’t acting like herself. But I basically got out of her way and she was really coming into this race so well. I’m so thrilled with how she ran.”

Sneakin Bye banked $11,360 for the win and is now three for seven in her young career. The final time for the 400 yards was 20.57 seconds. Rogue County finished second with long shots Mr. Foxy Zoom and GC Streakin Okey finishing third and fourth respectively resulting in large exotic wagering payoffs. The $1.00 Trifecta paid $1,840.40 and the $0.10 Superfecta paid $1,440.28.
