ShowVivor enters week 4 with just 75 players left with a chance at $10,000
Portland Meadows Ultimate ShowVivor Online Contest is entering week 4, and it’s starting to get down to the nitty gritty. Only 75 players remain out of the 1892 original players in the contest who started on October 24th. Nobody is eligible for the $25,000 top prize, however all 75 are still eligible for a $10,000 prize if they can last the entire season. If nobody makes the whole season, the person who survives the longest will receive a $5,000 first prize.
Going into week 4, handicapper “Sniper” is leading the pack in terms of top performers, with 8 wins and 1 second place finish in the first nine days of the contest.
The ShowVivor contest featured over 90% of the players being outside of the state of Oregon, however one local player making a good run is Tigard, Oregon resident Ted Barber, who often comes out to the track for live racing.
“I try to make it out to the track atleast 5 times a season,” said Barber. “As far as handicapping this ShowVivor, I definitely focus on the Thoroughbred races, especially ones with small fields. I’ve also had some luck sticking with Jerry Hollendorfer horses. This contest goes against my natural tendencies to look for horses with good value, but the goal here is just to stay alive.”
Days 10 through 12 of ShowVivor will be contested this Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, first post at Portland Meadows is always 12pm pacific time.
