PORTLAND MEADOWS LAUNCHES BREEDERS’ CUP $500K PAY DAY PROMOTION

Portland Meadows announced today the launch of the Breeders’ Cup $500K Pay Day promotion that will be conducted in partnership with the Breeders’ Cup and nineteen other simulcast sites across the country. This is the second year in a row that the Breeders’ Cup is offering this co-promotion with its simulcast partners.

The digital initiative provides all registered Portland Meadows fans with a mystery “voucher” worth at least $2, with some worth as much as $5, $10, $20, $50, $100, $500, $1,000. One lucky fan nationwide will be randomly assigned a $500,000 voucher. Contestants will receive their digital voucher via email after registering online and must take the voucher to Portland Meadows on Breeders’ Cup Saturday, November 3, to find out what it is worth.

Registration for the promotion begins today, Wednesday, October 17, and will remain open for the next two weeks, closing Wednesday, October 31 at 11:59 p.m. ET. Fans can register now at Portland.Breederscup.com.

“Portland Meadows offers a great venue to watch great sporting events and the Breeders’ Cup is a great sporting event,” said track GM Will Alempijevic. “We are excited to partner with the Breeders’ Cup in the $500k Pay Day Promotion. It gives our customers one more reason to come to the track and enjoy the World Championships and experience live racing first hand. We hope one of our customers gets the $500,000 voucher and others cash in for the consolation vouchers.

“We’re excited to work with our partners again to offer racing fans across the country another reason to head out to their local simulcast site on Breeders’ Cup Saturday,” said Justin McDonald, Senior Director of Marketing and Digital Media at Breeders’ Cup. “Last year’s program was well received by our partner sites and their fans so we’re glad to offer it again this year. Hopefully the lucky fan assigned the $500,000 voucher will cash it in at a partner site this year.”

The nineteen other participating sites are Aqueduct Racetrack (NY), Belmont Park (NY), Calder Race Course (FL), Charles Town Races (WV), Emerald Downs (WA), Golden Gate Fields (CA), Gulfstream Park (FL), Horsemen’s Park (NE), Lincoln Race Course (NE), Keeneland (KY), Meadowlands Racetrack (NJ), Winners Bayonne – Meadowlands (NJ), MJC – Pimlico (MD), MJC – Laurel Park (MD), Monmouth Park (NJ), Remington Park (OK), Saratoga Harness (NY), Suffolk Downs (MA) and Sunland Park (NM).
