PERRYS GETTING DOWN WINS THE PORTLAND MEADOWS FALL DERBY, JOCKEY OROZCO WINS HALF THE CARD..AGAIN

Portland, OR – A sloppy track greeted the rivals in the Portland Meadows Fall Derby worth just over $19,000 at 400 yards. After the late scratch of Leavin My Lover, a field of nine dashed off the mark in the three year old Derby contest.

Perrys Gettin Down rushed up in the final yards to edge out L Bar D Bonnie Lee to win The Fall Derby in a time of 19:98. Racing for Adrian and Atilano Gonzalez and Trained by Hector Magallanes who saddled the top three finishers in the stakes event. Perrys Gettin Down was ridden by Jockey Armando Cervantes who made the trip up from California to ride the speedy son of Mr Jess Perry. L Bar D Bonnie Lee held second as Henry Craig took third in the blanket finish.

For the second time since his arrival this Month, Jockey Kevin Orozco won half the races on the card at Portland Meadows. On his first day at the oval, the equine pilot recorded five wins from ten races on the day. On Monday, the 21 year Jockey did it again by taking four wins out of the eight race program. Orozco guided the winners in the last four races of the day starting with DG Man in the 5th, Hot Tub in the 6th, Kings Court in the 7th and Tinsel Angel in the 8th race.

Racing resumes Tuesday at 12pm at Portland Meadows.
