L Bar D Snow Princes sets new 220 yard track record
It took forty nine years for Gold Bar 49’s 220 yard track record at Portland Meadows to get broken when Hannibal Lector bested it last month. Well Hannibal Lector’s reign at the top was not long, as L Bar D Snow Princess bested his time, finishing the 220 yard sprint in 11.91 seconds. L Bar D Snow Princes ($9.20) was ridden to the victory by jockey Debbie Hoonan for trainer Don Young. The six year old filly is owned by Gerardo Sanguino has won seven of forty six career starts, for over $53,000 in career earnings.
Gold Bar 49’s record was set on July 25, 1953 with a final time of 12.20 seconds. Hannibal Lector broke that record just three weeks ago on November 17th, going the distance in 12.12 seconds. Now L Bar D Snow Princes name will be in the record books, with a time of 11.91.
