Grinder Sparksaglo waited patiently as Ontheshadyside set the early tone for the 50th running of The Portland Mile. At the top of the stretch though, the multiple stakes winner kicked into gear under Kevin Orozco to win the $25,000 added event before a near capacity crowd at Portland Meadows. Inside the final furlong Dynamic Scoring posted a big rally but settled second in the end. Highly regarded California invader Roaring Rule was third best in the race. Grinder Sparksaglo, who is Trained by Robbie Baze for Owner Richard Sena, covered the mile over a wet fast track in a time of 1:37:50.

Portland Meadows has two days of racing left on the calendar with racing Monday and Tuesday. Each day offers a 12:30 post time.
