Aloha Sweetheart wins the Far West Futurity
Aloha Sweetheart was acting up in the gate prior to the running of the $19,900 Far West Futurity on Sunday.
But jockey Jordan Hadley got his runner to calm down and run powerfully to take the 350 yard event. Aloha Sweetheart broke decently from the outside but really found her stride in the middle portions of the race.
“She’s been having a hard time getting out of the gate well,” said 22 year old jockey Jordan Hadley. “I knew she was sitting on a good race and she really took off for me late today.”
It was the first win for Aloha Sweetheart who just missed by a head in her trial event. She picked up $7,960 for owners Kapp Investments Co. and Hadley Ranch. Wyatt Elison trained the horse to the victory.
BH Country Chrome finished up in second while Countess Aluerdine finished up in third. The final winning time for the 350 yards was 18.464 seconds
