Kentucky Derby Party

Kentucky Derby Party

Date:
Sat, 2015-05-02

The 141st running of the Kentucky Derby will take place on Saturday May 2, 2015 from historic Churchill Downs in Louisville, Kentucky. The Derby is held annually on the first Saturday in May and Portland Meadows is your place to watch and wager on the Derby.

But Derby Day at Portland Meadows is more than just watching the race... it is an experience! There are great traditions surrounding the race and Portland Meadows has the biggest and best party in the city.

Portland Meadows will not host live racing until later in the year, but the atmosphere on Derby Day will be similar to that of a live day. Over four thousand people came to the track for our 2014 Derby Party.  All our floors and food and beverage and wagering locations will be open for service.  Additional portable stands are added on Derby Day to keep lines at a minimum.

  • Doors to Portland Meadows open at 7:00 AM
  • First Post from Churchill Downs: 7:30 AM
  • Derby Post: Approx 3:24 PM

There is no charge for parking or admission at Portland Meadows. All floors and areas are available first come, first served with the exception of our third floor Turf Club, which will be hosting a special multi-course buffet (details below).
