Portland Meadows is pleased to announce the next backstretch visit for honorary owners and horse racing fans coming up on Sunday February 21st at 8am. The tour will include a visit to the race office, a tour of the barns, and a special up close meeting with the People’s Horse Maria Margarita who will be training that morning. There will also be a chance to ask questions to trainer Ben Root, as well as other guests who may stop by including jockeys, exercise riders, grooms, and veterinarians.
The tour will begin at 8am sharp when the group will meet up at the south entrance to the main Portland Meadows facility. The group will then caravan over to the backstretch. Fans are encouraged to show up early as the tour will leave at 8am sharp. There will be snacks and juices provided before the tour starts.
