Portland Meadows will change their first post time each day to 12:40pm Pacific standard time starting on Tuesday November 17, 2009. That will be the permanent new first post for the remainder of the live racing season with the exception of the Kentucky Derby day card on Saturday May 1st, which will feature a special first post of 11:05pm PST.
The new first post of 12:40pm PST is a change from the old start time of 12:45pm PST. Portland Meadows races every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday afternoon, generally featuring nine live races each day. The new first post time will not affect Portland Meadows simulcast wagering hours, which will remain the same, seven days a week.
