Cupids Dash wins the Memorial as the huge favorite
Cupids Dash was bet down to overwhelming favoritism at odds of 1/5 by his backers, but he didn’t disappoint as he pulled away late to win the $10,000 added Memorial at Portland Meadows on Monday. The 3 year old has now won three races in a row which includes a win in the prestigious Far West Futurity back on December 15. Joe Crispin was again on board for the win for trainer Scott Raley and owner/breeder Gary Chumbley.
Cupids Dash broke pretty sharply and battled down the stretch with Ghostriderinthesky, but Cupids Dash started to pull away early. Ghostriderinthesky was caught in the final few jumps by Sissis Little Nipper who got up to snatch the place spot.
Final time for the 350 yards was 17.72 seconds. Cupids Dash has now won four of his eight career starts and this win put his earnings up over $30,000 career mark
