PORTLAND, OR---Portland Meadows is pleased to announce the following changes to its Pick 5 wager for closing weekend - Monday March 10 and Tuesday March 11, 2008. On Monday March 10 Portland Meadows will offer a $20,000 Guaranteed Pick 5 Pool. The Pick 5 will also have a mandatory payout. If there are no 5 of 5 winning tickets, 100% of the net pool shall be distributed as a single price pool to those who selected the first-place finisher in the greatest number of Pick 5 contests. The Pick 5 will also have a mandatory payout on Tuesday March 11, 2008.
The Pick 5 sequence on Monday March 10 will feature our signature event of the year - the $30,000 added Portland Meadows Mile, along with the $20,000 Donna Jensen Handicap.
The Pick 5 was added as a regular addition to the Portland Meadows betting profile on December 30, 2007. Since that time the Pick 5 has been paid out fourteen times with an average $2.00 payout of $1,443.73. The highest Pick 5 payout was $5,846.00 on February 11. With eleven races scheduled for Monday March 10 the Pick 5 will cover races 6–10. The Pick 5 always ends in the next to last race and features a $1.00 base bet with a minimum total ticket cost of $2.00.
