Maria Margarita is back in looking for her third consecutive win as she will contend in the second race on Wednesday March 3rd at Portland Meadows. Maria Margarita has been installed as the 5/2 morning line favorite and has drawn the outside post position in the seven horse field. Troy Stillwell will once again ride the People’s Horse as Juan Gutierrez who has been aboard for the last two victories, is on vacation for this racing week. Stillwell rode Maria Margarita in her first seven starts of this season, including her maiden win.
“She really has improved since getting two turns,” said trainer Ben Root. “She is doing well, hopefully she can keep up her winning ways.”
