Jim Rome’s much anticipated return to the Rose City is literally hours away as Sports Radios most popular host will be at Portland Meadows for a VIP party on Monday November 2, 2009 from 1:30pm to 3:30pm. Rome will broadcast his nationally syndicated show from the studios of 95.5 FM The Game and will then come to Portland Meadows for the VIP Party. Tickets cannot be purchased, but Portland Meadows and 95.5 The Game will be raffling away 25 pairs of tickets for the party at 12:55pm at the main entrance to the facility. Fans are encouraged to come get their name in the hat early with doors opening at 9:00am. The VIP party will be an intimate setting, with only 250 guests attending.
Jim Rome will also be doing some wagering while he’s at Portland Meadows, but he’ll be doing so for a great cause. Rome will be wagering $300 in both races 5 and 6 that day, and will make his selections with help and input from the party attendees. All proceeds that come from Rome’s wagers will go to support the Bald Faced Truth Foundation, which supports Arts, Education, and Athletics for our local youth.
95.5 The Game will be broadcasting all of their local shows live from Portland Meadows starting with the Morning Sports Page from 6am to 9am. Rome’s show goes from 9am to noon, then it’s Wheels at Work with Brian Wheeler, voice of the Trail Blazers from noon to 3pm. After that will be the Bald Faced Truth with Oregonian Columnist John Canzano from 3pm to 6pm.
In honor of the appearance, Monday’s sixth race will be the Jim Rome VIP Party Purse with Jim Rome doing the blanket presentation in the Winner’s Circle. Post time for Portland Meadows live racing will be 12:45pm and there are nine live races
